Directed, filmed and edited by Chalkley Calderwood with additional cinematography by Harry Zernike.

In 1965 NYS Assemblyman Harvey Weisenberg met and fell in love with his beloved wife Ellen and her son Ricky who was born with Cerebral palsy. After Ricky experienced severe abuse at a State School where he was placed into care, Harvey turned his horror and outrage into a lifelong mission of tireless advocacy on behalf of children and adults with disabilities and their caregivers.

This emotional story moves between Harvey's beloved home town of Long Beach, NY to the Assembly Floor in Albany where he worked unusually well and effectively across the aisle, under five New York State governors. We witness the apex of his tenure when Harvey goes head-to-head with Governor Andrew Cuomo to fight for $90M that was slated for children with disabilities and their caregivers. Cuomo had essentially stolen it out of the budget without regard for the consequences.
